The day my father agreed to testify against Terrence Randall, one of the most ruthless drug traffickers in North America, was the day I became the target of the drug lord's enraged vengeance. I was the one thing that stood in the way of Daddy's testimony, and the one thing that could save Randall. The man would stop at nothing to get his hands on me.
I was prepared for what was coming - as prepared as one could be when vanishing into the U.S. Marshal's Witness Protection Program.
I just wasn't prepared for him.
For ex-Navy SEAL turned mercenary Lake Freeman, escorting Lily Cross into the Witness Protection Program was just another job - until a better offer came along. Lake couldn't have cared less about the life he'd been hired to protect. After all, she was a part of the very organization that had cost him so much already.
At least he never expected to care.
But when forced into a decision he never thought he'd have to make, the mission became one of survival for himself and his beautiful charge. Lake knew that in order to protect her, he'd need to bring the feisty and unpredictable Lily to heel - he couldn't keep her safe if he couldn't keep her under control.
But that protective urge quickly turned into something else, something dark ... and his need to conquer, to claim, overrode all else.
He would keep her safe. He would keep her protected. But he would make her his, as well.
Now, all he had to do was figure out how to keep them both alive long enough to do it...

Wow! Super hot and dark! I knew going into this book I would love it because it was a Trent Evans book. I have never read anything from his that I didn’t absolutely love. I was new to Natasha Knightly, but familiar with her work from blog hops. Now I can’t wait to read some of her books also. I was hooked on this story from the beginning. Trent has a way of dropping you into a story in-progress without making you feel lost; keeping just enough mystery to make you wonder what this character has up his sleeve or in the back of his mind. I often times get bored at the beginning of a book having to read the back story and history of the characters and nothing happening until you are a third of the way in; feels like a waste of time for me. With this book, you jump right into the action. I like the plot line with its twists and turns, never 100 percent sure who was the good guy and who the bad guy was. The story was well written and edited. Oh and did I say this book was hot? It is smoking hot! Readers really need to heed the warning on this book.Product details

Captive Mine (Audible Audio Edition) Natasha Knight Trent Evans Philip Alces Shadow Moon Press Books Reviews
I Loved this book. It hooks you in from the start and never let's go until the last page. BE WARNED This book is not for the faint of heart. It is intense and at times brutal. There are extreme punishments ( spankings, strappings, croppings) and hard core down and dirty Sex. This is one wild ride so you better buckle up and hang on.
Natasha a Knight and Trent Evans combine their enormous talents to create a believable storyline and a very complex dynamic between Lily and Lock. This is edgy and I just loved it. It will most likely push you past your comfort zone but if is soooo worth it. I hope that these two talented authors come together again. I'd love to see what stories they could come up with! Just 1-click this book. You will NOT be disappointed!
This was a really difficult book to read and review. I love a good suspenseful and dark read and I am not opposed to some BDSM and non-con sexual activity in a story. This one had that and while I liked how it started and how it ended...the middle was a love/hate thing for me because I didn't really understand Lake's motives with Lily and some of his behavior made no sense whatsoever and had nothing to do with why he kidnapped her.
There were plenty of bad guys in this book as well (Lily's father and his business associates as well as some crooked law enforcement) but my main issue was the extreme lengths Lake went to in order to "prove a point" with Lily.
The scenes between them in the cabin were so intense at times "I" found myself cringing and holding my breath and then in the next minute (like Lily) I was breathing heavy for a very different reason. Whew...some parts were smoking hot and crossed that pleasure/pain line many times.
An interesting collaboration of a male and female author (I wonder if she wrote Lily and he wrote Lake) and I would definitely read more from these two again.
Do heed the warnings though...some of the descriptions are brutal and very explicit.

The publisher’s warning on this book had a strange effect on me. When I read it, I could almost feel how my mouth began to water and I just thought; “Give it to me!”
Well, I have read it and I don’t care about what a lot of other people think about it. I thought it was fantastic!
I enjoyed how Natasha Knight and Trent Evens created a good plot, but the characters were for me the main attraction. The main part of the story revolved around Lily and Lake’s relationship and how it evolved. Stockholm syndrome was mentioned several times, but that was the beauty of it all, was it really that or was it so much more?
I really wanted to hate Lake, I tried my best, grinding my teeth at him and telling myself to hate him, but just like Lily I was completely under his spell. He just had me under his thumb and he could do whatever he wanted and I would take it and be his good girl! Lily was a sweetheart and I loved her spirit.
It’s a rough book, but it’s beautiful and that’s my opinion!
